"African American"

Is a term I never use.  Nor do I ever say, "people of color."  My standard term for people of a sub-Saharan complexion is "black," or, exceptionally, "negro."  And it will be a cool day in Baton Rouge before I ever shall use language which strikes me as at once ridiculously grandiloquent and stupidly inexact.
