From the magnificent Hamilton Library of the University of Hawaii--unlimited free internet access. Have spent most of the day communicating with Kristen, beseeching her to wire me $300.00--and not being utterly refused--in order that I might live a couple of more weeks at the hostel I'm in on Waikiki. Her last communication said she still didn't know "what sacrifices" she "could or would have to make" in order to oblige me; check my email tomorrow. So with wan hope, I turn my thoughts to my truly splendid surroundings here at the Manoa Valley campus; thinking perhaps to see what I might listen to in the music listening library, if there is such a thing....Ah, but it's a quarter after four, and the sun will be down in an hour and a half. Time now to set out walking towards the beach.

Just a note. Both Jean Kirkpatrick, fascist troll, and her much admired fascist prince, Augusto Pinochet, died last week within a day or two of one another. Presumably, if there is a hell, they are burning together in it.

So here I am on Waikiki. Temporarily of course. I hope I can last till the end of month. But I'm here--out of the way of the horror that is about to engulf the continental United States, and maybe about to have an interesting rest of my life. Vedremo.
